NEETs & Life Skills Programme
Re-engagement, life skills and post-16 routing for young people who are NEET or at risk of becoming NEET.
Who it's for
Young people aged 14–19 who are not in education, employment or training, or who are at high risk of disengaging at the KS4 / post-16 transition.
How it works
A practical, relational programme that meets young people where they are. We rebuild a workable weekly routine, reintroduce structured learning in small steps, and work in parallel on the life-skills foundations — communication, money, travel, time, self-management — that determine whether a post-16 destination actually sticks. Delivered 1:1 in the home, in community settings, or online.
What the placement looks like
- 01
Re-engage
Low-demand relational sessions to rebuild trust and a workable routine. No targets in week one.
- 02
Rebuild

- 03
Route
Joint planning into college, apprenticeship, supported internship or training — alongside our CEIAG service where useful.
- 04
Bridge
Continued contact through the first half-term of the new destination to reduce drop-out risk.
Outcomes we work towards

- A realistic, written route into education, training or employment
Evidence we share with commissioners

When this isn't the right fit
Young people whose primary need is acute mental health crisis or active safeguarding intervention — we will signpost and, where appropriate, hold a place open.
